À propos du film
Through the voices and experiences of Maite Aristegi Larrañaga, Alazne Intxauspe Elola, and Amets Ladislao Gonzalez, Bizigarritasuna. What Sustains Life brings us closer to the world of three women farmers who, from different generations and with different ways of living in the countryside, cultivate much more than food. Their daily work reveals a way of understanding the world based on caring for the land, interdependence, mutual support, and commitment to the community. In contrast to a model that prioritizes productivity and unlimited growth, they advocate for another way of living: slower, fairer, and deeply connected to the rhythms of nature. Far from idealizing rural life, the documentary captures the challenges, contradictions, and hopes of those who sustain life, often from invisible places. An intimate and collective narrative that invites us to rethink what it truly means to live well and what knowledge we need to preserve to build a habitable future.
