Ciro, a botanist with post-traumatic stress, finds in flowers and plants a way to cope with the constant suffering caused by the army during a time of war.
À propos du film
Ciro is a botanist who lives with the scars of war etched into his memory. Although his body managed to survive, his mind still carries memories that constantly haunt him. For him, flowers and plants are not just an object of study, but a silent refuge, a means of escape. In caring for a stem or in the simple act of watching a petal unfold, he finds relief from the hostility that dominates his past. However, that peace is shattered when his mother receives a letter from the army announcing the possibility that Ciro may be recruited once again. The mother becomes trapped in an unbearable silence—how can she tell her son that the past threatens to repeat itself in his future? In the midst of a country marked by hostility, nature continues its course: flowers keep blooming, indifferent to human pain. In that contrast between the delicacy of living things and the brutality of war, Ciro’s story finds its root: the struggle to preserve his mental peace when the world insists on taking it away from him. How can one move forward when the past insists on returning?
