À propos du film
Alfonso, Andrés, Vicenta, and Concha are four retirees who, each in their own way, live daily with unwanted loneliness. Their stories, captured in interviews, are interwoven with scenes from their routines: an empty house, a park bench, a quiet market, a table with empty chairs. As they reflect on how this same loneliness also affects their teenage grandchildren—trapped behind screens and unintentionally ignored by overwhelmed parents—the four friends decide to take action: they stage minor mishaps (a fall, a broken transit pass, a TV with no signal, a mobile phone switched to Chinese) to prompt their grandchildren to come and help them. The plan works. Each encounter reconnects grandparent and grandchild through simple gestures: watering plants together, grocery shopping, fixing an appliance, sharing an afternoon. The missing puzzle piece—both real and symbolic—finally appears: it wasn't a physical piece, but rather time spent together.
