A man wakes up dead and wanders through the streets of Belgrade, searching for comfort in the little things he once loved. But the world of the living no longer seems to have a place for him.
À propos du film
A man discovers that he is dead. Outside, life in Belgrade goes on as usual. He reaches for familiar pleasures — flowers, cats, a drink — only to discover that even the simplest things are no longer quite the same. Restless and frustrated, he wanders through the city until a celebration of the dead offers him a chance to belong somewhere again. But even among his own kind, something is missing. Told without dialogue and starring a €1 plastic skeleton hand, *It's Hard Being Dead* is a bittersweet tragicomedy about loneliness, attachment, and the things we cannot leave behind.

Jan Biernacki is a Belgrade-based product designer and independent creator behind deadsimple. With a background in design and software development, he explores filmmaking and other forms of creative expression. His work is driven by a simple idea: creating something doesn't have to be complicated, or done the way everyone else does it. Sometimes the best approach is to forget the conventions, remove the unnecessary, and just make things.
