In Hoda’s Name Hoda, a young woman, is caught between the responsibility of caring for her mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, and her struggle to preserve her own life and future. Mahin’s memory loss is becoming increasingly severe, and Hoda feels more and more that her entire life is slipping away. When Mahin can no longer even recognize her daughter properly, Hoda is faced with a difficult question: how far should she go in caring for a mother who can no longer remember her? As financial pressure and Hoda’s personal life make this responsibility even more difficult, she must decide whether to stay, let go, or entrust part of this responsibility to someone else. In Hoda’s Name is the story of a woman who, in order to save her own life, is forced to confront the meaning of love, responsibility, and letting go.
Réalisation
I am Amir Dehghani, an Iranian filmmaker with a degree in Film Directing and experience in filmmaking and artistic activities. I have directed three short drama films, with a focus on realistic stories, human relationships, and emotional experiences. My latest short film, In Hoda’s Name, is a realistic drama that explores family, memory, and human relationships.
