Jack and Elena share a quiet farewell in an old jazz club. At Jack's feet lies a heavy duffel bag, and two young men follow him as he leaves. In the middle of a desolate wasteland, Jack begins digging a hole to bury the bag, only to be ambushed and shot. When his attackers discover the gold inside and let their guard down, Jack fights back. Wounded but alive, he reaches for the bag—until a truck suddenly strikes him. Elena steps out of the driver's seat. She loads the bag into the truck as Jack gives her one final request: “Don't look back.” Leaving him behind in flames, Elena drives away without turning back.
Réalisation
Ha Taeyeong and Sung Yeonjae are South Korean filmmakers who co-wrote and co-directed Don't Look Back. Ha Taeyeong studies filmmaking at Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts), School of Film, TV & Multimedia. Working collaboratively with generative AI tools, they developed the film's visual language, shot construction, and post-production through an iterative process of prompting, generation, selection, and editing. Don't Look Back explores generative AI as a filmmaking medium within the conventions of neo-noir and action thriller cinema.
