Inspired by Zhuangzi's fable of Chaos and the seven openings, Chaos Born follows a complete, undivided being whose newly opened senses allow sound, images and desire to rush in. What promises greater perception gradually dissolves the self. Through ink-like generated imagery and a cyclical structure, this experimental animation transforms an ancient Chinese fable into a contemporary experience of sensory overload.
Réalisation
He Zhu is a Chinese filmmaker working with Chongerdong Studio in Zhangzhou, Fujian. He is the director and first credited creator of Chaos Born, an AI-assisted experimental animation inspired by Zhuangzi's fable of Chaos and the seven openings. His work on the film combines generated ink-like imagery with human direction, selection and editing to explore perception and sensory overload.
