Weaving Dreams is a social and human documentary about the elderly members of the Pájara Senior Centre and their collective creation of a crochet Christmas tree and a large Christmas tapestry.
About the film
For months, the elderly members of the Pájara Senior Centre worked together on an extraordinary collective creation: a crochet Christmas tree and a large tapestry made of thousands of handmade squares. What began as a craft activity gradually became something much deeper: a space for companionship, shared hope, memory and community life. Weaving Dreams does not focus only on the final result, but on the human journey behind it. The film captures the hands that weave, the conversations, the laughter, the quiet effort and the emotion of a group of older people who prove that it is never too late to create, participate and feel part of something meaningful. Shot mainly with a mobile phone, the documentary seeks a close and honest gaze. In some parts, the protagonists themselves also recorded images of the process, becoming not only the heart of the story, but also part of its visual perspective.
