About the film

What would the character say to the person who created him if he had the opportunity to do so?. From July 1936 and especially during the period called "hot terror", there was a brutal repression by the insurgent army against authors and components of the carnival of Cadiz. "THE captive verse" is inspired by the story of "El Rámper", a fictional character created by Jesús Bienvenido for his homonymous musician-theatre work. From a polyartistic perspective, a tour is made through the suffering of the character and how he would thank his creator for having given him life, thus giving voice to all those who suffered the brutal repression of those days and the following years not only in Cadiz but in the rest of Spain. An artistic vision on the need for memory, justice and repair.
