Synopsis

When the desire to excel becomes an obsession, three souls in search of themselves turn ambition into a process of alienation, discovering the other side of perfection.

About the film

Project Perfection tells the story of Max Rossi, a young physics student with an aimless life, who drifts through half-hearted exams and a chronic lack of motivation. His existence changes drastically when he accidentally comes across an old VHS tape: the tape contains the research of a physicist who devoted his entire life to the idea of equaling or making the Nambu-Goto action and the Wheeler-DeWitt equation interact, dragging him into a reality dominated by a cold logic. As Max slips into a spiral of alienation that progressively distances him from his own humanity, his path mirrors that of two other seekers of the absolute: a marathon runner obsessed with surpassing a race time considered impossible, and a girl trapped in an unattainable aesthetic ideal whom he tries to emulate in every possible way. These three lives, randomly crossing paths in everyday life, run parallel toward the same tragic mirage: a frantic search for perfection seen as the only form of salvation. It is an extreme journey where ambition becomes a curse, turning the pursuit of the best into a destructive process that wears down the body and fragments the mind, leaving behind only the debris of what was once human.
