About the film
Kickflip tells the story of two inseparable friends: Max and David. Inseparable until, last summer, Max disappeared without warning. Now, almost a year later and just weeks away from turning 18, Max returns to David’s life as if nothing had changed. Both are aware that his visit is temporary, and that his departure this time will be permanent. Together, they try to fulfill an unkept promise: to land a kickflip. But as the days go by, David finds himself unable to understand why Max has to leave again. More than understanding Max, what David truly needs is to understand himself, and to accept that Max died that summer, and that this Max is nothing more than a projection of his own mind.
