Six Patagonian guides venture into the heart of the Northern Ice Field, following the footsteps of earlier expeditions, where the mountains could only be seen from afar. Pushing the limits of what is known within an ecosystem in transformation.
About the film
Six Patagonian guides venture onto the ice for 30 days with a clear goal: to keep advancing where others stopped, continuing the spirit of the early explorers. The route leads them to the Benito Glacier and, as the final objective, to Cerro Alfil. Weather and geography test the team every day: heavy rain, shifting terrain and the uncertainty of whether the expedition will succeed force difficult decisions and make every step count. Beyond the mountaineering feat, the film looks closely at the landscape they cross. Retreating glaciers and changes in the Patagonian ecosystem stand as evidence of a territory in transformation, and the journey becomes a reflection on the fragility of that environment and on our bond with the waters that begin in the high mountains.
