In the countryside of the southwest border, a father regarded as eccentric by others devotes himself to mine‑clearing. No one knows that this misunderstood persistence stems from his inconsolable grief over the loss of his daughter, and mine‑clearing
About the film
The land along the southwest border was once riddled with landmines. A father has persistently engaged in mine‑clearing for years, seen by local people as withdrawn and odd. Few understand the secret behind his actions: crushed by the loss of his daughter, he pours all his longing into mine‑clearing, commemorating her in a way no one around him can comprehend. Thanks to national governance efforts, all mine hazards across this territory have been completely removed. There are no more landmines for him to clear, and the pillar that carried his grief is gone. He can no longer place his longing through mine‑clearing, and must face his enduring inner pain alone while carrying on with his life.
