Synopsis

After waking in a dystopian, colour-saturated room, SHEM ventures into Soho, where a psychedelic journey unfolds through surreal encounters, shifting realities and strange characters. Teleporting between scenes, from an eccentric shopkeeper to an uncanny encounter in a bar, he eventually rejects an invitation to party and returns to his studio to create. As he reveals his final painting, SHEM teleports into the artwork itself, blurring the boundaries between artist, imagination and reality.

Director(s)

SHEM is a London-based multidisciplinary artist working across painting, installation, film and spatial environments. His practice explores identity, self-belief, perception and the possibilities of imagining alternative worlds, bringing a distinctive visual language across different mediums. Through an approach rooted in experimentation and world-building, SHEM creates immersive experiences that extend beyond the canvas into moving image, physical spaces and collaborations across art and contemporary culture. His projects include DON’T FORGET TO TELEPORT, a cinematic extension of his wider artistic practice, alongside collaborations with brands including Leica, Hugo Boss, Moleskine and Matsuda. He also created stage artwork for Bad Bunny’s Saturday Night Live performance.
