Choices and Timelines

Directed by Randy Spurgeon

United States · 2026 · 2 min 8 sec · Romance

Synopsis

A man falls in love later in life — the autumn season for them both. Each had lived a rocky life before they met, and as they talk, they discover they had always been just a few steps away from each other their whole lives, yet never met until now. Both were so badly damaged by what life had done to them that they could not make it together. One day the man sits at the beach, looking out at the water, imagining he had met her when they were children, living across the street from one another — the life that might have been, on another timeline, as his brother once explained to him. Narrated in the filmmaker's own voice over Debussy's 'Clair de Lune.'

Director(s)

Randy Spurgeon was born in North Miami, Florida, and grew up between North Miami and the Smoky Mountains, where his father lived. He writes under the pen name Randar. His life has been a stormy one at times. He has been writing since he was a child, and he turns to his writing when life gets dark — it grounds him and keeps him going. He now lives in South Florida and drives a tractor-trailer; many of his stories come to him out on the road.
