“A writer pitching his first script gets ensnared in a producer’s revenge scheme, forcing him into a moral crossroads where fiction and reality blur.”
About the film
“Aprottashito (Unexpected)* is a Bengali suspense thriller about a writer named Krishnendu Som who is struggling under financial stress and family responsibilities. His life takes a new turn when producer Atanu Raychaudhuri offers him an opportunity that seems like a breakthrough. But as he gets drawn in, a complicated conflict involving another producer, Rajesh Gupta, begins to unfold. Caught between ambition, money, and manipulation, Krishnendu finds himself in a situation where he can’t clearly tell what is real, what is staged, and who controls the story anymore. The film ultimately reflects on choices, consequences, and the unpredictable turns of life, where reality can become stranger than the stories we try to write.”
Director(s)
“For the past 22 years, he has worked in the non-fiction industry, but film has always been his passion. He pushed himself to explore fiction as a new and challenging creative journey.”
