Kurosh, an Iranian man living in Spain, loses all contact with his father in Tehran after war breaks out between Israel and Iran. Powerless to act, he faces a seemingly small decision that will put his values to the test.

Kurosh, an Iranian man living in Spain, goes about his everyday life while managing a tourist apartment owned by his father, who still lives in Tehran. As he welcomes a pair of guests, he speaks with apparent normality about the growing tensions between Israel and Iran, still unaware of just how directly that reality is about to reach him. Later, while calmly cooking at home, oblivious to what is happening, he receives a call from his friend Esperanza. She is the one who breaks the news to him: Israel has bombed Iran. Kurosh tries to contact his father, but gets no response. Trapped thousands of miles away and unable to intervene, his concern gradually turns into helplessness and anger. Consumed by that sense of powerlessness, Kurosh meets Esperanza at a bar. In front of her, he allows his fear and frustration to surface, along with the resentment he has built up toward his father. His helplessness eventually gives way to a darker impulse: the desire to hurt back, to find some way of responding to a violence over which he has no control. Esperanza tries to bring him back to a more intimate, essential place within himself, with little success. Days later, while continuing to manage the apartment, he receives a cancellation request from guests in Tel Aviv whose flights have been suspended because of the war. They ask him to make an exception to the booking conditions and refund their money. Suddenly, in the midst of an immense conflict in which Kurosh has absolutely no say, a seemingly insignificant measure of power falls into his hands. The decision he makes will not change a war or restore his father’s safety, but it will force him to choose what to do with his anger when, for a brief moment, he has the chance to exercise it over others.
