An inexperienced recruit carrying a heavy duffel bag meets a senior soldier for the first time. Drawn on separate pieces of torn paper, they appear distant and unfamiliar. As an unbroken camera movement follows their shared training and everyday life, the distance between them gradually closes. By the time they appear together on a single sheet of paper, the recruit has become a dependable senior. He reaches out to welcome a new recruit carrying the same heavy bag, continuing a cycle of care and growth.

Hong Sungwon is a South Korean director working in AI animation and visual effects. He studied Digital Art at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. His short films include Flight of the Grounded Boy (2025), Rodeo of the Mouse (2026), and Our Trajectory (2026). Rodeo of the Mouse was officially selected for the Full AI programme of the 2026 Merge Film Festival in Switzerland.
