Acerca de la película

Broken Mirrors is a documentary film that delves into the intimacy of a taxi's confined space, transforming an everyday mode of transport into a stage for confession and memory. Through fragmented editing, the short film captures the voices of eight drivers who, amidst the traffic and anonymity of the city, lay bare their deepest realities: from the weight of loneliness and fractured families to the search for redemption in old age. The piece is born from a process of creative transmutation. Using the original documentary footage from the television series Taxi para... (Sun Channel), director Roger Castro proposes a break with traditional news reporting to embrace a Direct Cinema aesthetic. Here, the camera not only records testimonies but also observes the cracks in the human experience. The protagonists, who often go unnoticed as mere service providers, reveal themselves as mirrors of a society struggling to maintain its emotional connections in the face of time and the harshness of the profession. In the end, Broken Mirrors is an introspective journey about identity and destiny, reminding us that, although we do not choose our origin, we are always the ones who hold the steering wheel towards the end of the road.
