RTV Public Screening & Watch Terms

Updated September 30, 2026.

Currently free

RTV Watch participation is currently free. We are building a curated library of complete short films, AI films and micro dramas. Preferred runtime is 5–15 minutes, with flexibility for other complete short films. One complete story, one film page, one watch experience.

Two independent, optional permissions

Festival judging does not require public availability. You may choose either permission, both or neither. Private Festival screener authorization is a separate permission and never permits public full-film playback.

Festival Online Showcase Authorization: I authorize RTV to publicly stream and showcase my full film on RTV.com during the 2026 RTV International Film Festival online showcase period, November 14–21, 2026.

This window covers November 14–21 in America/Vancouver, ending at the start of November 22. Festival-only playback stops automatically outside this window. Ongoing Watch permission does not extend the Festival Showcase itself.

RTV Watch Authorization: I authorize RTV to continue publicly streaming and showcasing my full film on RTV Watch after the festival period until I request its removal.

Ongoing Watch permission also permits an independently reviewed Watch listing when Festival Showcase is declined. Neither choice affects eligibility, Official Selection, Finalist status, jury awards, Audience Choice or editorial decisions. Featured remains a separate Admin decision.

Editorial review and playback source

Authorization is not automatic publication. RTV must review the complete work, basic picture and sound quality, metadata, credits, rights and suitability, then explicitly publish. AI labels describe production methods and do not confer quality ratings or priority. Unfinished works, pure tests/demos, serial episode catalogs, serious technical defects, prohibited or illegal content, fraud, spam and obvious rights risks may be declined.

Choose a separately authorized public YouTube/Vimeo embed or an RTV-hosted Cloudflare Stream upload. Password-protected screeners, Google Drive, Festhome reviewer links and file shares are not public playback sources. Existing screener links are never automatically published. External availability depends on provider settings; removing an RTV embed does not remove the provider copy.

Rights, removal and availability

You must own or control the rights needed for your selected public screening permissions, including music, images, performances, likenesses and underlying works. You retain ownership. RTV records your choices, text version, source, timestamp, film ID and publishing request. Use verified email sign-in to update your film materials. Contact hello@rtv.com to request changes to public screening authorization, video sources or removal.

RTV may suspend or remove content for copyright complaints, rights disputes, illegal or prohibited content, excessive bandwidth abuse, technical problems, verified creator requests or policy changes. Previously issued playback tokens and caches have limited expiry; urgent hosted removal can delete the video. This is not a promise of perpetual unlimited hosting or availability in any country, including mainland China.

Future policies

A future paid-publishing policy will apply to future new publishing requests. Existing free publishing requests remain free and will not automatically be billed or required to pay a difference. Any changed terms requiring a new agreement will be communicated separately.

Privacy

RTV stores metadata, scoped authorizations, editorial history and publishing records. External players contact their providers after the viewer chooses to load them. Cloudflare Stream processes RTV-hosted uploads and playback. Private screeners and passwords are not published. See RTV Privacy Policy.
